Meet the maker
Hey guys and gals, I'm Natalie, owner and maker at Athena's Bounty. I started making cards and prints after the birth of my daughter Athena Evelyn-Rose. I had been on maternity leave and had all but lost my sense of self and become...just someone's mom. I knew I was suffering with post-natal depression and drawing and painting, like my poetry became a way of dealing with my feelings and a form of therapy.
I've always loved being able to shower my loved ones with gifts; they weren't always the most expensive or lavish, but they did always have the most heart. I became pretty good at always picking the right cards and the right gift...I decided to scale that skill up a notch and so Athena's Bounty was born.
Literature is such a huge part of my life as a keen poet and as a student who studied classics...this name; Athena's Bounty encapsulates every essence of the literary world that I hold dear. Being both a mixture of the name of my very beautiful but headstrong daughter and my favourite Shakespeare quote:
"My Bounty is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep, the more I give to thee..."
